Jaggery is a traditional form of sugar that has been used for centuries in India. The word jaggery comes from the Sanskrit word “gaura”, which means “honey”. When you eat products made with jaggery you are getting many of the nutrients found in whole sugar cane. Jaggery can be used in place of white sugar in any recipe that requires a dry sweetener. You can also eat jaggery as it is or use it in baking recipes.
